Ikigai

(n.) (生き甲斐, "ee-kee-guy") is a Japanese concept. It describes the things that make your life worthwhile and gives you a deep sense of purpose, satisfaction, and joy. It's sometimes defined as the "secret to a happy life".

As a photographer, there's nothing quite like capturing a moment in time with my camera. It's a feeling that's hard to describe, but it's one that's so fulfilling and rewarding. Every click of the shutter is a chance to create something beautiful and memorable.

When I'm behind the lens, I see the world in a different way. I notice the little details that others might overlook—the way the light hits a person's face just so or the way the colours of a sunset blend together in the sky. These are the moments that I live for as a photographer, the moments that make me feel alive.

It's not just about taking pretty pictures, though. Being a photographer means having a deep understanding of the technical aspects of photography—things like exposure, aperture, and ISO. It means knowing how to use the right equipment to get the shot you want and being able to work with people to make them feel comfortable in front of the camera.

But at the end of the day, being a photographer is about more than just the technical stuff. It's about telling a story with your images, capturing the essence of a person, place, or thing. It's about creating a visual narrative that draws people in and makes them feel something.

For me, photography is more than just a hobby or a job—it's a way of life. It's something that I'm truly passionate about, and it's something that brings me immense joy and fulfilment. Whether I'm shooting landscapes, portraits, or anything in between, I feel like I'm doing what I was meant to do.

So if you're thinking about picking up a camera and exploring the world of photography, I say go for it! It's a journey that's full of ups and downs, but it's one that's ultimately so rewarding. Who knows what you might discover when you start seeing the world through a different lens?
